Hi there I'm Abi, one of the chronic pain team. I'm 24, and was diagnosed with Hypermobility type ehlers-danlos syndrome. Simply putting it, I've got over flexible joints which dislocate easily, additionally I have skin which is stretchy and bruises & cuts easily. This syndrome also affects my organs and internally, so ibs and heart palpitations are a common occurrence, I have chronic fatigue and pots which are connected to the eds. I've lived with this all my live, but the dislocations began 7 years before diagnosis. It's hereditary and I got it from my dad (although his symptoms are almost non existent) and I have a 50/50 chance of passing it on to my children. More about me, I am a semi-professional actor, and currently manage a team in an office, however I am looking to go in to teaching early years. I live with my partner who is very supportive, and our cat who is very intune with me. I am also a practicing pagan, in my spare time you'll more than likely find me slaving over a hot stove cooking or baking cakes Anyway enough from me, please do ask us any questions about chronic pain & we will try to help
